Do you guys ever get stuck in the rut of all the clothes you already own ? Im sure you do… because….women. We’re completely crazy and can think of nothing to wear with our entire closet full of clothes.
Ive been there for the last few weeks, starting to feel super repetitive. So during Black Friday (sales, DUH), I forced myself to think outside of my norm, and switch it up a bit. As much as I love shoes and fun tops, I have this obsession with bottoms. I love pants, all styles, denims, shorts, trousers, chinos. I really just love a good pant.
After browsing Pinterest (every time im in a personal style rut, Pinterest is my GO TO for Inspo) I came to the conclusion that I needed a new style of denim. Ive worked in clothing for SO many years, and worked for a denim company (Diesel) for 2 years alone. While working at Diesel, I learned so much about different styles of denim, that im sure its why I love jeans so much.
While I still think Diesel makes some of the best jeans on the planet, I found a pair on Pinterest that instantly caught my eye. I found a pair of American Eagle “mom jeans” called “Tom Girl”. They were distressed, and funky and frayed, but what I loved most was the leg. It wasnt a typical skinny jean. It was more of a straight cut which I dont ever wear. As soon as I went onto AmericanEagle.com, I saw a huge “50% off + Free Shipping!” banner flashing, and searched “Tom Girl” as fast as my fingers could go. There they were. The perfect jeans I had been looking for. The perfect shift to my wardrobe. I had no idea how they’d run since I never wore AE jeans, so I went with a size 8 in case there was no stretch. THANK THE LORD I did because these babies have ZEROOOOO stretch. and I mean absolutely none. This was super new to me since I have a very curvy body type, and my waist is so much smaller than my hip/leg area. I put them on and they literally felt like paper. Im super open minded so I hoped to god they loosened on my leg area, and they did! I ended up absolutely loving them. I love the jeans so much especially with heels. Im so glad I thought outside of my typical “skinny stretchy jeans” box, because now I have another pair of mom jeans on the way from PacSun!
